1. Both machines are owned by the same person or organisation.
This means you can't install and activate Virtual Belfry on your own PC and then ask for the second activation to be for a machine owned by someone else (or your local tower).
2. Both machines are normally located in premises owned or ordinarily occupied by that person or organisation.
This means you can't have one of your two machines at home and the other permanently located in a tower where others could be using it for teaching or practice (such usage requires a second licence).
If the owner is a ringing centre that conducts teaching in several towers, machines can be moved between those towers, but they can't be given to some other tower for their use.
3. If the owner wishes to install Virtual Belfry on more than two computers, additional purchases must be made. Each additional purchase entitles use of the program on two more computers. Such machines will use the same Licence Key as earlier purchases by the same person or organisation and will be subject to the same conditions listed here.
4. If a computer that has an activated copy of Virtual Belfry installed on it fails for whatever reason and can no longer be used, the author will (of course) provide an activation key (see below) at no cost for a replacement machine.
5. If a computer that has an activated copy of Virtual Belfry installed on it is sold or given away, the program must first be uninstalled from that machine - unless the machine is the only one that is using its Licence Key, in which case all rights for the use of that Licence Key transfer to the new owner.
The photographic images of bells that are available for certain towers in Virtual Belfry are for use by the Virtual Belfry program ONLY. They must not be used for any other purpose without the written permission of the author.
Virtual Belfry is believed to be free of bugs and viruses. Any bugs that may subsequently be discovered will be documented on the Virtual Belfry website and an amended version of the program will be made available for download. If Virtual Belfry misbehaves in any way related to these matters, or in any other way, the limit of the author's liability is to refund your money.
Activation Keys
Note that the program requires a PC-specific Activation Key in order to run fully (without one it runs in a limited "evaluation" mode). Activation keys are supplied by the author to customers upon receipt of a registration code taken from the PC on which Virtual Belfry has been installed.
The Photographic Images
The photographic images of ringers that are available for use in Virtual Belfry are for use by the Virtual Belfry program ONLY. They must not be used for any other purpose without the written permission of the author.
The Belfry Image Setup Files
If you have purchased either of the sets of belfry images, you may (and indeed should) make backup copies of the associated setup file(s) as provided to you by download. These setup files are personalised to your Licence Key and you will need to use them again if you need to install the program on another machine. The author does not keep copies and there is a fee for reissue.
The Sound Recordings
The recordings of bells that are supplied with Virtual Belfry are provided with the permission of the church (or other) authorities of the various bells involved. If you want to use these recordings for other personal purposes (e.g. in some other ringing software you may be using), please ask the author for permission. If you are given permission (which is likely), this does not then grant you permission to give those recordings to other people. Such other people must ask the author for permission just like you did.
